Cody and Alex's Wedding

It's been a while since I sat down to write on my blog. It's been a roller coaster of a winter. I've been hit with 5 sinus infections, a stomach flu in January, 8 weeks of vertigo, and had surgery in mid-April. Whew!  Well, besides all the speed bumps with my health, I have been a little busy editing weddings and family portraits that I was asked to photograph. I will be posting images here and there.
The first set of images are from a Cody and Alex's wedding that my husband and I were asked with the honor to photograph. My husband works with the groom, Alex, with the US Forest Service. Cody is a junior high school teacher. We photographed their engagement photos back in November at Kuleto Winery during Veterans Day weekend. It had rained the day before, and we lucked out the next day with gorgeous weather. Cody and Alex got married on April 14, 2012 at the Rincon Beach Club in Carpinteria. And crazy enough, it rained on the day of their rehearsal. Alex and Cody invited Jerick and me to their rehearsal and BBQ dinner. We were able to enjoy our time visiting fire buddies and get to meet the close friends and family of Alex and Cody. The day of their wedding was yet again a gorgeous, clear, warm, and sunny day. We lucked out again. The bride had some fun props with blue parasols that matches her bridesmaids dresses. The groomsmen had surf boards along with them while we photographed at the beach. The bride and groom even brought with them a hammock that the entire bridal party held onto for Cody and Alex to sit on. We had some fun photographing the bridal party jumping off some rocks at the beach and some amazing shots along the train tracks. I couldn't help by think of the movie "Stand By Me" when the main character yelled, "Train!" really loud. The garden area was beautiful to photograph in. Alex and Cody were so relaxed and everything stayed on track with their time line agenda. Jerick and I couldn't keep our fingers off the shutter button on our cameras. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Their ceremony was very sweet and touching. The dinner was amazing at Rincon Beach Club. The garden at night was lit up with so many beautiful enchanting lights, it was magical like Disneyland. Their friends and family had a blast on the dance floor. We stayed till the last song was over and enjoyed some extra goodbyes with our fire buddies. I have finished editing, color correcting and color enhancing their images within a few weeks, a new record for me. I was excited about getting Cody and Alex their images and slideshow. I had bought new CD cases from Rebinder, made from recycled paper, and CD labels. I have been anxious to finally print on them and deliver their CDs in their beautiful cases and cute tote bag that I had custom designed. We are still currently working on designing their Thank You cards and I am working on finishing their design for their KISS wedding book. Here are some amazing proofs from their wedding. Enjoy!

Trash The Dress

Hi There!
In fall 2010, my husband did a photo shoot session with me in my wedding dress. It was our little version of the "trash the dress" photos. We had a wonderful time together photographing in the woods outside of Westwood, CA. The Aspen tree leaves were turning a golden yellow and it was just breathtaking out there. It was really strange being on the other side of the camera, but there's only one person I feel completely comfortable behind my camera and taking a picture, and that's my husband!

Enjoy!

Flowers from my husband :)

This last Tuesday, January 10th, my husband and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. In 8 years we've grown more stronger and more deeper in love as we journey through this life together and built our beautiful family. My husband ordered this beautiful floral arrangement from a shop in Santa Ynez. I totally love them! I took some pictures to show the stunning arrangement.
Enjoy :)

Nature Images

Good Evening!
I have been wanting to upload the images I took around the Lake Almanor area when we lived there. Looking at the images today really made me miss the picturesque beauty that we were so lucky to be surrounded in for 3 years. I feel so blessed to be able to have had that opportunity to live in a new place and to really experience all 4 seasons. Although the winters seemed long, it was amazing living in a town where it snowed.
Three years ago we traded the mild weather of the coast with the beaches and surfing, to a quieter peaceful living in the pines and an awesome lake. Three years later, we return to the coast as a closer and changed family. It was a wonderful ride up there in Lake Almanor. We sure miss it!
Here's the link to view the images through Pictage and all the images are available for purchase as well!

Greetings!
I wanted to let you know that, once again, I will be a vendor at the City of Davis Bridal Show with my husband. It is located at the Vets' Memorial Hall on Saturday January 14, 2012 at 11am. It's a wonderful time to get to meet couples, brides and families and also network with other vendors. The City of Davis Bridal Show is fairly new, this is only their second show. I am very excited to be there next weekend!!
Cheers!

Check out the web page for more information about the bridal show!

We moved!!

Greetings!
It's been a busy last few months, and I have completely neglected my blog. I had a busy wedding season, while balancing the daily duties of being a mother and a wife. I am very thankful for the wonderful couples who chose me to photograph their weddings this year. I appreciate you all giving me the opportunity to photograph your special moments of your wedding day. While wrapping up my images and orders for the wedding season, my husband received a job promotion mid November. He accepted his new position with the US Forest Service as Captain on Santa Ynez Flight Crew. I am very proud of him!!! As we were anticipating our move, we had to get our house in Chester ready for our move. We down sized as much as we could, donating our old clothes, some furniture, toys, and yes, I passed on all my baby goodies to one of my close friends. It's been hectic getting ready for a move during the holiday season, but we did it. This last Thursday, we arrived to our new home in Buellton, CA. We celebrated Christmas this morning with boxes put aside for the time being.
I hope to update my blog even more deeply by posting some images from this year's wedding season. I did add some new images already to my website. On January 14, 2012, I will be a vendor at the Davis Bridal Show in Davis, CA. I am very excited about the bridal show and being able to meet some new couples and network with other vendors. Even though we moved from Northern California, I am still readily available to photograph weddings there, I enjoy traveling!!
Many happy holiday blessings to you and a happy and very healthy 2012!
